Problem-based learning (PBL) is a kind of teaching method which is directed by an ill-structured problem and can develop students'knowledge and skills through independent inquiry and cooperative learning in the process of solving the problem. Grounded on practice, General Technology Curriculum of high school advocates independent learning and cooperative learning and lays great emphasis on developing students'creativity. In accordance with the General Technology Curriculum, PBL has great teaching values for General Technology Curriculum.The values of PBL for General Technology Curriculum can be summarized into five aspects from the angles of curriculum and students, which are:Help to fulfill the internal requirements of Technology Education; Help to carry out the comprehensive feature of the General Technology Curriculum; Help to develop students' self-directed learning in a technological society; Help to stimulate students' creativity and practical ability and help to enhance students' cooperative ability in the modern working world.In spite of the great values for General Technology Curriculum, PBL can't be used in the teaching of all the knowledge of General Technology Curriculum. So this paper analyzes and summarizes two main knowledge modules---technology design and technology test that fit for the PBL. And then the paper presents the two main knowledge modules from the angles of connotative meaning, the features fit for PBL and teaching matters. Teaching design is important for teaching practice, so the paper presents the main factors of the PBL teaching design in General Technology Curriculum, which are:analysis of students, design of the problem, design of the teaching goals, design of the teaching process, design of the teaching strategies and design of the teaching evaluation, especially the core factor--- problem.At last, in order to better understand the PBL teaching in General Technology Curriculum, this paper presents the teaching design of the "Simple Bridge Structure Design" and its practical use. And through class observation and talk to teachers and students, the paper reflects on the PBL teaching in General Technology Curriculum and brings forth four suggestions:to reinforce the supports for General Technology teachers and to form the teaching teams for cooperative teaching; to establish and perfect the rules for cooperative learning; to enhance the teaching conditions and to explore the teaching resources.
