In recent years, the new media has been widely used and has changed the society in China. Among those people who use the new media, college students are the most active. They were born in the environment of the new media, and were greatly affected by it. Besides, most of them are the only child in their families, and they have been affected both by the change of the society and the popularity of the internet, so their ideology and morality are inevitably affected by the new media. Hence, there are new features in their ideology and morality. This thesis summarizes the outstanding features of the new media, the reasons why the new media has a great effect on college students' ideology and morality, and the new features and tendencies of the development of their ideology and morality in such environment. Specifically, the principles and measures are suggested to the education of college students' ideology and morality.The first section is introduction. Based on the background, significance, and the previous studies, it proposes the framework, the methodology, and the innovation of this study.The second section defines the new media. It also makes a conclusion of the new media, such as, it is rapid, convenient,, information-exploded.The third section analyses the effects and the developing tendencies of the new media to college students' ideology and morality to prepare for the measures of the innovation of their ideological and moral education.Based on the discussion above, the fourth section gives suggestions to the principles and measures to improve college students' ideological and moral education.The last section sates the limitations and comes to a conclusion of this study.
