Wu Shi Educational Practice And Thought Research

Wu Tianshi is a famous contemporary educationist and revolutionist in China. In his long-term education practices, Wu Tianshi forms his unique education theories. Early in the Revolutionary Wars, he have joined positively and made some efforts to the education revolutionary cadres in Huazhong Revolutionary Base Areas. He summarized a set of effective education theory by combining the Marxist theory and his own practices, making great contributions to the Communist party and Chinese people. After the founding of People's Republic of China, Wu Tianshi was appointed to the director of Department of Education in Jiangsu Province. He maintained to found agricultural school, setting an example for the foundation of national agricultural schools. He also actively led the language teaching reform, strengthened the basic education and improved the quality of primary and middle school education. Apart from practices in educational field, he also left precious heritage to later generations, especially thoughts of education, which is worthy to advocate and learn.This thesis takes Wu Tianshi's education practices as a main clue, trying to make a thorough analysis of his education thoughts. The author attempts to make a scanning of Wu Tianshi's educational life and conduct a systematic research. Meanwhile, the author combines Wu Tianshi's legend life with the contemporary history of China, showing one's life through history events and telling events from one's story.The thesis is made up of four parts. The first part describes Wu Tianshi's revolutionary educational career, introducing Wu Tianshi's childhood and his school days, and the history of his devoted to the revolutionary cause. As a leader of socialist education in Jiangsu Province, he made great achievements. The second part illustrates the sources of Wu Tianshi'education thoughts, which mainly includes the Chinese tradition, the modem civilization, the New Culture Movement and the Marxism. The third part deals with the summary of Wu Tianshi's education thoughts. This is the main part of the thesis. The last part is about Wu Tianshi's misfortunes in the "Cultural Revolution".
