| Based on the statistics of CNNC(China Internet Network Information Center), before December 2010, the number of internet users in China has reached to 457 millions. Network is changing the ways of people's life, learning and interaction. In universities, the influence which network brings is more obvious: network not only provides open and freedom education platform, but also changes the way that teachers and students in universities communicate or interact with each other. The topic on changes in teacher-student relations and interaction is one of the focuses which educational scholars paid attention to. But research which focus on western area especially in Xinjiang universities is so rare.In order to accurately understand and grasp the features of teacher-student interaction under network in Xinjiang Universities, the author conducted a sample survey through questionnaires and interviews for the undergraduate students in Shihezi University, Xinjiang University, Xinjiang Normal University, Xinjiang Agricultural University, Xinjiang Medical University and Xinjiang University of Finance. The article is mainly focus on the following topics:the main features of teacher-student interaction under network environment, the difference between Han and minority students on the interaction with teachers, teachers and students'attitude towards network interaction. From the survey, we found some problems existed:First, teachers have low willingness communicate with students under network. Second, network interaction between teachers and students are instrumentalized, learning in network interaction is so rare. Third, Xinjiang universities are generally lack of long-term and system training for the use of network educational platform. Fourth, the teacher-student network interaction are lack of mechanisms to encourage and guide. Finally, the hardware and software facilities are inadequate. The author believes that there are many factors influenced teacher-student interaction under network environment in Xinjiang universities:First, economic and internet in western China is lagging behind the development of other area. Second, teachers and students in Xinjiang universities have no fully understanding about teacher-student interaction under network. To some extend, Islam culture affects universities in Xinjiang's network culture. And the separation in learning and boarding between han and minority students also constrains the development of network interaction. At last, the author points outs five countermeasures:Focus on the training for teachers and students' network operation, introduce measures to encourage and guide the healthy development of teacher-student of internet communication, carry out monitoring and evaluation of teacher-student communication networks, strengthen the network infrastructure and building a harmonious healthy culture of the campus network. |
