It was a long time that Chinese teaching efficiency was very low in our country. Many students who were admitted to university can't adapt the further study in the university and the changeful work and life in the future. All those shows the reading exercises in our Chinese Textbook have not been able to help foster students' language ability and improve their Chinese accomplishment fundamentally. Therefore, re-examine and study the reading exercises in Chinese textbook is becoming more and more necessarily.The study object of this research is new curriculum standards Chinese textbook for senior high school published by People's Education Press. in order to avoid repeated study, find the previous research progress and loss, we simply reviewed the previous research on reading exercise at first. In the first chapter, the thesis discussed the important position of reading exercises in language teaching and textbook compiling, we think the important position of the reading exercise in Chinese textbook and language teaching can mainly be found in the following four aspects:(1), embodied the compile ideas and course teaching guiding ideology of the Chinese textbook compiler; (2), guiding teacher daily language teaching and students usually Chinese self-study; (3), check the teachers' teaching effect; (4) and consolidate the students'Chinese knowledge and cultivating students' bilingual ability, improving students' Chinese comprehensive literacy. Any practice preparation are inseparable from certain theoretical guidance, in the second chapter of this research, under the guidance of several theories that deeply influenced the compiling of reading exercise such as Education target taxonomy, theory of Multiple Intelligences, Constructivism Theory, under the guidance of reference of the predecessor's research achievements, we puts forward the four basic principles on reading exercise compiling.We think there must be a clear purpose, should fully exert students' main function, and it must promote the all-round development of students, and pay attention to students' intelligence differences, it should not be too easy or too difficult. In chapter 3, according to ancient poetry, modern poetry, ancient prose, modern prose, sino-foreign fiction and drama, application and literary and so on mentioned by new curriculum standards Chinese textbook for senior high school published by People's Education Press, we analyzed and studied all the reading exercises in the textbook According to the analysis and statistics in the third chapter the fourth chapter mainly discussed the reading exercise compiling characteristics and defects. We found these reading exercise should pay more attention to cultivate students' learning initiative and self-consciousness, students were more free to answer the questions and it also pay more attention to increase students' language accumulation. Of course, there are still many unsatisfactory places in the reading exercises of this set of textbooks,, such as most reading exercise focused too much on the text itself, rather than the ultimate goal of study, and the contacts with students daily life are still not close enough, on the whole, optional and chaotic phenomenon are still can be find in the reading exercises, some exercises simple repetition, problem sets Settings mostly follow "appreciator orientation" instead of "appreciator orientation" lack of students' criticism consciousness and create consciousness training etc. The last part of the paper, is the epilogue mainly some suggestion on how to compile and use reading exercises. We suggested that when we decided to compile reading exercise we should establish specific knowledge and ability training system first, and the reading exercise should be helpful for the student to study independently, cooperatively and explore, and it should keep a close contact with students real life, we should create problem-context properly and the exercise should be diverse and flexible, we should pay more attention to the knowledge integration between disciplines. When we are using the reading exercise we should learn to use it flexibly. at the same time not hesitate to put up our different views, only in this way can improve the compile standards and using standards.
