In present reading research, the meta-cognitive palys an important role in reading comprehension, which has been confirmed by a large amount of reading research and endorsed by lots of reading experts. Lots of famous teaching trainings of reading abroad almost cover the meta-cognitive, which improved effectively the reading ability of the middle school student. However, it is in its infancy to research empirically in our country. The aiming to explore the methods and accessing to improve the reading ability, the teaching strategy of reading for the middle school student has been researched in this paper. On the base of the research of the pioneers, I have made a overview about the essence and structure of meta-cognitive and meta-reading respectively. In consideration of weak reading ability, absence of meta-reading, I have made some study on reading interest, reading aim, meta-reading knowledge, meta-reading experience, meta-reading monitoring et for the middle school student according to the theory of mete-cognitive and experience of application for meta-cognitive. Besides, the strategies to cultivate the ability of meta-reading for the middle school student are discussed in this paper.
