In the modern society,through the teaching of senior middle school new courses on history, we want to cultivate the students' critical thinking ability, which is the means and guarantee of developing the students'independent values. It is also one of the ultimate value orientations of history education.In order to research the ways to develop students'critical thinking ability and the effectiveness on history teaching, we have been searching for scientific and effective teaching approaches to apply advanced teaching ideas to teaching practice. We have found it beneficial to complete the reform of the new curriculum concept and the quality of history teaching comprehensively improved.I have been researching on the study and practice of critical thinking ability in the new curriculum teaching in senior middle school history and choose teaching method according to different students' thinking characteristics in the past two years. I summarized critical thinking teaching methods as follows: stimulating doubt, guiding them to understand, removing doubts and having emotional communication. In the present history teaching practice, history teaching materials based on history textbook are the students'main curriculum resources. On the basis of critical thinking of teaching theory, I guide the student to observe textbooks and find inaccuracies of textbooks to improve their cognitive level. According to the actual situation of the present students, taking advantage of network resources to help them to master general principle of the critical thinking. These practices can not only receive good teaching effect but also be favorable to the new curriculum concept thoroughly implement.
