New Curriculum Standards calls for fundamental change in students'attitudes, learning styles and strategies that Chinese students are expected to acquire. It is required that students could judge and reflect on how they learned during the study and gain experience in problem solving. The ability of reflection is an important symbol of personal growth and independence. Whether a student has formed a good habit of reflection is a key element to decide how a student can study actively, creatively and successfully.This paper analyzed the reflective learning theories in China and abroad and combined the writer's own teaching practice. The writer believes that reflection is kind of self-construction on the basis of independence, it is also the further deepening to the knowledge and concept. And it can also effectively improve the students' self-development and perfection. Reflective learning has become the focus issue. So the writer did a series of research among the junior 3 middle school students on reflective learning.This paper has used the self-designed《Questionnaire of the middle school student reflective learning ability》and surveyed several groups of junior 3 students from three different middle schools. After that, the writer analyzed the result of the investigation. This thesis has researched in seven aspects:The first part mainly introduces the background of reflective learning;The second part mainly introduces the purposes and significance of the research;The third part mainly introduces some related concepts and theoretical basis of reflective learning ability cultivation research;The fourth part mainly introduces the methods on how to do the research;The fifth part mainly analyzes the current situation of students' reflective learning;The sixth part analyzes the factors influence the reflective learning;The seventh part particularly introduces the practical ways and suggestions on how to improve the students' reflective learning skills and summarizes the paper.Through the preliminary study of reflective learning, we can conclude that the situation of students' reflective learning really needs to be improved. This paper analyses the problems and provides some practical advice and strategies on problem solving. The writer hopes that this research can be the references of the effective teaching for teachers. But as the time is limited, some procedures may not be answered perfectly. I'll continue to research and explore more in the future.
