This research explored the drawing context characteristics and the skills of brush andChinese ink of mountain and water pictures on the base of Gong Banqian 's ThickChinese ink painting ,the master of the Nanking School at the beginning of Qing Dynasty,analyzed his style forming and manifestation mode, researches the brush and Chinese inkcharacteristics of thick ink mountain and water paintings, the drawing art context ,thepainter's style and the aesthetics value .they are discussed as following:Firstly, this research probe thepainter's arduous art exploration and the forming ofstyle around the drawing context roles through the interestings of brush and Chinese ink.Itsummarize briefly the influenced painters like Gong Banqian, compared and analyzedlongitudinally Gong' brush and Chinese ink and the style of drawing context of thick inkmountain and water paintings. The historical painters' styles and drawing context are allrelated to the observations to the nature and the regularities of exploring the roles of art.Secondly, the research overviews briefly the development and the achievements ofthe beginning of Qing Dynasty, then introduces the language and the brush and inkcharacteristics of Gong's Thick ink mountain and water paintings .emphasized the Gong'shardness of art ways and the unique according to the cross-sectional study of "Fourmonks "and "Four Kings". At same time, explores the building of drawing context andthe techniques of brush and Chinese ink combining a great quantity of painting works.Thirdly, the thesis researches the drawing context of the mountains and waterpainting s from the angle of the planeness mountain and water painting, aesthetics andphilosophy, analyzed the features of Gong's Thick ink mountain and water paintingscombining the diversity of the mountain and water paintings in Qing Dynasty.This researcher tries to illuminate the hierarchy of mountain and water paintingdrawing context of according to the analyzed methods of ancient painting theories andiconology, even with Gong's case features,unscrambles the evolutions of the features ofmountain and water paintings and drawing context from the end of Ming Dynasty to thebeginning of Qing Dynasty.
