Mao Qiang, born in Shandong Province, is a proper kind of local opera to Jiaodong Peninsula. It belongs to a branch of Zhouguzi system, which melody is derived from Huagu-Yangge and come into being in the south area of Jiaozhou (Today in the region of Zangma, Jiaonan city of Tsingtao). Mao Qiang possesses very important place in the development of the local operas in China and significant research value for its vivid clime character, proverbial folk-custom character, rigorous opera form character, abundant compatibility character, special exhibition character, direct expression of public-opinion character and different styles music character. Therefore, Mao Qiang was ranked among the first batch of intangible cultural heritage in 2006. After the boom years in 1960s, Mao Qiang was depressed for some reasons such as education, production, and economy that the number of playactors became less and less, the opera contents lacked innovation, less money was devoted to it.Under this circumstance, this thesis makes profound research in the development of Maoqiang's music, and analyzes systemically Maoqiang's origin and form illuminating with charts by means of colleting filed materials and consulting others'achievements. Meanwhile, the particular features of the local opera Maoqiang such as vocal melody, instrument choice and local dialect, are expatiated detailedly and illustrated with scores by referring correlative professional works and reviewed outcomes. In conclusion, this thesis gives advice to the development of Maoqiang from three aspects: drama composing, fund devotion and educational support. Moreover, this thesis criticizes the opinion that the reform and development of Maoqiang maybe achieved easily by unchangedly copy other local operas including foreign opera, and puts forward that the scientific development of Maoqiang must base on its own features. |
