The Henan Opera in Shangqiu, is called the eastern tune, of Henan in the locality. It is one of the most representative main schools in Henan Opera and also the folk-custom traditional opera culture whose characteristics are based on a particular region. Its music is high, clear, strong, rough, the content is abundant and lively and the language is plain, vivid and moving. It represents Shangqiu people's heartfelt wishes and it is the product that combines the deep history culture with the strong local folk-custom art. Thisdissertation-----The Source And Course of East Tune of Henan Andoperatic vocal music analyses is from the point of view of history, makes use of the theories of ethnology, folklore and musicology, adopts the method of inquisition, document data analyses and comprehensive survey etc, and provides a comparative, overall and systematic arguments between the source and course of east tune of Henan and operatic vocal music. The dissertation includes five parts: A, the regional culture in Henan and the folk-custom traditional opera in Shangqiu. this part gives the discussion respectively from three aspects, a, history and geography, cultural background; b, traditional dances and drama cultural relics c, the folk-custom and drama art in Shangqiu. B, the source and course of Henan Opera and the music of east tune of Henan itself, this part gives a brief account of history evolution and development of Henan Opera, as well as emphasizes the music of east tune of Henan and its development, including the modal characteristic and style ect. I also put forward my own views about the source and course of east tune of Henan and operatic tune inheritance. C, operatic vocal music analyses of east tune of Henan. this part analyzes deeply and concretely the mode structure of operatic vocal music, the exchanges and use for reference among schools and the most characteristic male vocal music. D, The theatric troupe and actors of east tune of Henan. this part discusses in detail the ancient theatrical troupe, the theatric troupe of folk Henan Opera in the earlier period, modern and contemporary theatric troupe of Henan Opera and its actors in Shangqiu.E, including remarks, this part mainly illustrates the current situation and its development of east tune of Henan, its art and social value in the current situation and it keeps the pace with the times and innovation on the foundation of inheriting the tradition. This dissertation can be regarded to demonstrate a kind of academic relations of east tune of Henan between historical development and operatic vocal music from the angle of theory and practice, and it also uses concrete proof to show it bears the folkways, public feelings and social function as folk-custom drama culture in the local folk life.
