Since 20th century, various school and ideological trend in western contemporary fine arts has bring strong impact on contemporary Chinese painting. Facing of complex situation and more choices, how to express understanding of art is a question for Chinese artists, Wu Guanzhong, whose paintings were all based on mainland and integration of Chinese and western culture, purchasing "chinization of oil painting" as well as "mordernization of Chinese painting". He annotates art innovation as never-grow-old melody in chinese painting with special painting form. The abstract form in his work and the concept he annotates is distinct with western abstract painting essentially. This paper try to probe into the essential difference between them from the point of Chinese art ethos in Wu Guanzhong's abstract painting. Besides that, I also attempt to analyze the new traditions and freshness brought by his natural abstract painting for Chinese traditional painting from the point of Chinese traditional art ethos and aesthetic tasteing. |
