Leo Tolstoy is a talented artist (Lenin), in his world-class literatures there are a large number of very different and vivid women images. This paper selects one of few typical women images from Leo Tolstoy's three novels "War and Peace", "Anna Karenina" and "resurrection" to discuss Tolstoy's view of women and the factors of this view. This paper uses the theory of feminism and the critical methods of the feminist images to explore the women image in the works with a new perspective. The specific contents of each chapter are summarized as follows:I Introduction. Review the research achievements about Leo Tolstoy's feminist views in China, and point the innovation and value of the study.II The analysis of women images in Leo Tolstoy's novels. This chapter outlined not only the aristocratic women images as Anna, Natasha, Jiti, Tao Li, Mary and Allan, but the civilian women images as Masi Petrova and Sonia as well. The description of the common features of women images, the attitude of love and gender relations and social responsibility in the family in the works unfolds Tolstoy's view of women in front of our eyes. Finally, the final fate of women in Tolstoy's works and Tolstoy's standard for perfect and ideal women are summed up in the chapter.III Leo Tolstoy's view of women. This chapter describes the formation of Tolstoy's view of women, and traces that Leo Tolstoy's view of women has improved and changed with the development of the society. Tolstoy's values for women are based on religious morality. He described a series of women images, and Tolstoy praises or criticizes them by moral standards. In the end Tolstoy's view of women is concluded --- the progressiveness, the limitations and the contradictions, which are discussed in details. IV The origin of Leo of women. This chapter points the origin of Tolstoy's view of women by his life experience and his overview of religion. The living environment and personal life experiences impact Tolstoy's view of women, and the doctrine of religion like "fraternity", "not to be violent resistance to evil", and "moral self-improvement" also have a great influence on Tolstoy.V Conclusion. As a literary giant of his times, Tolstoy's view of women has some conservation, but it is still ahead of its time. In the interface society Tolstoy's view of women has a historical prospective. We should also accept the refraction of male weakness in writer's own view of women.
