On studying foreign languages, the first problem you face is pronunciation. The Koreans studying Chinese as a foreign language have specially difficulties in pronunciation because of the differences of phonetic system between two languages. To the beginners studying Chinese pronunciation is not problematic, but to master it you should acquire how to pronounce it because the phonetic of the language is very fundamental. If the pronunciation of the target language is inaccurate and not fluent, you do not seem to complete the language acquisition. This study has dealt with high school students or above, focused on not only mandarin pronunciation and Chinese phonetic principles as core elements when learning Chinese but also principles of speech education because some pronunciation errors are the main problems for the adults learning a second language. They are likely to be interfered with their mother tongue and have much difficulty learning a foreign language because of insufficient knowledge, imitation and memory on the target language.Through Chinese phonetic teaching methods, wrong pronunciations are taught to be corrected and guided right pronunciation. In addition, this paper also examines South Korean students'Chinese phonetic errors produced when learning mandarin, and shows appropriate teaching methods.
