According to the former research, most of the studies on teleplay are focusing on its artistic perspective and cultural context. But this paper chooses the teleplay's communication strategies as point of penetration. From the teleplay's production to acceptation of the audiences is a whole communication process. The teleplay text includes coding and encoding process. This paper selects TVB teleplays and Canton self-made teleplays which produced after the hand over of HK as text, and adopts comparative method to study the communication strategies between them. Besides, this paper is differ from the former communication strategy study, and is divided into external and internal two parts. On the external communication strategy, it compares four aspects of the TVB teleplays and the Canton self-made teleplays in line-up strategy, feedback system, stars modeling strategy, and communication channel;On the internal communication strategy, it compares four aspects of the TVB teleplays and the Canton self-made teleplays in theme, character, and language.The research shows that the TVB teleplay did better than Canton self-made teleplay in programme line-up, feedback system, star modeling, and communication channel. And some suggestions are proposed for the production of Canton teleplay according to the result. After marching into the year of 2008, many TV stations in mainland begin to devoting in the self-made plays. And a successful self-made teleplay would have brought a great deal of profit and could have a good image built of the TV station as well. In recent years, Canton also sped up in the production of self-made teleplay. The TVB teleplay has a high audience rating in Canton for a long time, and the Canton self-made teleplay can draw on the experience of the TVB's communication strategy. And as to the internal communication strategy, both of the creation of the TVB teleplay and Canton self-made play's content and text are based on the producer's consciousness to satisfy the audience, to obtain a pretty TV rating, and to maximize the teleplay communication effect.
