"Enlightenment"as the essential characteristic of education in ancient China, which is an important way to rule over a country in ancient community, and plays an important role in the development of ancient China. According to the meaning of"enlightenment", on the basis of observation of enlightenment activities and moralizing-education rudiments, analyzed and studied the moralizing-education, policies, models and activities of ancient China. Not only in the study of the connotation and development of ancient moralizing-education has important academic value, but also provide a useful reference to resolve social conflicts and build a harmonious society in China."Jiao"is activity, means that the superior carries into effect ethics measurements and others who follow the activities."Hua"can be understood as a process, a method, or a state and results. The characteristics of enlightenment include much information, which is a kind of subjective purpose of guidance, a demonstration from subject to object, a process of acceptance, and the pursuit of enlightenment activities is to change the inner spiritual world of the object, the highest state of enlightenment is achieving the goal of fusion between the enlightenment content and the inner spirit of object.The social enlightenment in ancient China includes six types, such as mission education, encouraging learning education, courtesy education, ethics education, reformatory education and good or evil education. The basic features of the theory of enlightenment in ancient China have five aspects, which are politics and religion, moral center, the external discipline and inner cultivation, cultivation methods and human nature understanding, family, social and school enlightenment.The beginning of enlightenment activities was in primitive society, and the seeds of moralizing-education practiced in Western Zhou Dynasty. Chinese traditional ethics systematic philosophy taken place in the Spring and Autumn Period. Philosophers wrote books to promote their political ideas. Philosophers of Confucianism in ancient China influenced the development of ethics. Confucius attached great importance to the role of enlightenment. He believes that everyone can use the"De","Li"for the doctrine of moral improvement, and he emphasizes on the role of education, which laid a solid theoretical basis for enlightenment. Then Mencius provided the view of"human goodness", and the view of Xun Zi is"Humanity is evil", Guan Zi as the practitioners of real politics, he thought that the tools for governors managed the country by law and ruling the country. The Chinese Ancient Education Policy was formed in the Qin and Han Dynasties. Then we analyzed the enlightenment policies in different Dynasty, such as the Wei-Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui-Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties.In summary, the traditional enlightenment has a huge impact on the spirit of the ancient Chinese: the traditional enlightenment is originally adapted rulers to control and integrate the social thought, the spirit of integration and social order, and the practice. Through enlightenment activities to coordinate the social interests, exclusion, dilute or hide the social value of conflict, integration of social values, and promote the national spirit to the harmonious and orderly system direction. Through establish national members to learn, supported by corresponding social material and spiritual rewards, provide spirit incentives of construction and integration. Through enlightenment activities to promote the encouraged or prohibited thought and behaviors in legal, institutional and ethics advocated, propel the society forward.
