Dante's On Vulgarism and Hu Shih's Literary Reform are two important classical literaries. Set in specific historical circumstances, and set language as the breakthrough to initiage a new pattern of historical development, these two classics had profound influence on society at that time.As the establishment of their pioneering status in the history of classical literary, the more attention will be paid by an increasing number of experts. However, the carding and analysis with regard to their relationship will not be sufficient. Based on above, the research on them will be further penetrated into.This paper is written on the basis of Dante and Hu Shih's vulgarism and colloqualism essay as the research objects, and discussed respectively in related to their background and life experience.The main part of this paper will be unfolded from three parts. In the first part, their identical parts will be contrastively analyzed, even the related interpretation in connection to the reasons will be given. In the second part, the differences between these two works in different cultural forms will be paid more attention. In the third part, sources that cause these kinds of differences will be traced.
