Study On The Doubtful Points And Textual Criticism Of Records Of Huayang States

The twelve-volume Huayangguo Zhi (Records of Huayang States华阳国志)written by Chang Qu,The first forth volume, named Ba Zhi ((巴志),Hanzhong Zhi(汉中志),Shu Zhi(蜀志),and Nanzhong Zhi(南中志)are in clue of region about their history and geography; the other five volumes named Gongsun Shu Liuermu Zhi(公孙述刘二牧志),Liu Xianzhu Zhi ((刘先主志),Liu Houzhu Zhi ((刘后主志),Da Tong Zhi(大同志),LitexiongqishoushiZhi(李特雄期寿势志)are in clue of time and regime about the occupants since Gongsun Shu; the other two volumes named Xianxianshinu Zhi(先贤士女志),Houxian Zhi(後贤志)are in clue of character about the characters in Shuzhong and the last volume is Xu Zhi ((序志)about the writing intentions including Yi Liang Ning Sanzhou Xianhanyilai Shinu Minglu(益梁宁三州先汉以来士女名录)Huayangguo Zhi (Records of Huayang States华阳国制)preserves mountains of valuable historical materials on Ba district, Shu district, Hanzhong district and Nanzhong district from ancient times to Eastern Jin Dynasty, though some written events pre and post coexist and contradict. Based on a systematic chronicle on Huayangguo Zhi (Records of Huayang States华阳国志),this paper clearly and diachronically presents the characters and events in the book. As to these characters and events found in difficulty, this paper do a in-depth and comprehensive textual criticism on all kinds of documents and previous researches to add the oversights an revise the inadequacies and the wrongs for further research. Besides, the textual criticisms on previous southwestern historical and geographical research centered on Huayangguo Zhi (Records of Huayang States华阳国志)provide more extensive information for further researches on the southwestern history, geography and minority and so on.
