An Investigation Into The Syntactic Phenomenon Of JuYe Dialect

Aimed at studying the syntactic phenomenon of JuYe Dialect, this paper provides the description and explanation of this subject, which is based on the abundant first-hand materials, and refers to some current research findings of Mandarin and other Chinese Dialects syntax, and applies Three-Planes theory and method. The differeces between the syntactic phenomenon of JuYe Dialect and Mandarin are emphasized particularly. On the other hand, the similarities of them are less writen except for the part used to compare, in order to highlight the trait of JuYe Dialect syntax within the limited words.The paper contains five chapters:1st chapter:"Introduction". It mainly introduces the cultural geography, dialect attribution and general picture of JuYe County, and illustrates the current research status, research meaning and methods.2nd chapter:"Special Phrase Structure in JuYe Dialect". Since there are many differences in the structure, meaning and usage of phrase between JuYe Dialect and Mandarin, this chapter gives detailed description on phrase structure and central supplementary structure in JuYe, which represents particualr meanings.3rd chapter:"Common Patterns in JuYe Dialect". This part chiefly presents the disposal sentence, passive sentence, comparative sentence and interrogative sentence. Meanwhile, specific description of these patterns are given and compared to their counterparts in Mandarin.4th chapter:"Composite Sentences". This chapter focuses on the paralleled composite sentence, subordinate composite sentence, and compressed composite sentence. And their corresponding forms in JuYe Dialect are also analyzed structurally, and explained in terms of semantic features and pragmatic functions.5th chapter:"Summary". This section summarizes the whole article by concluding the characteristics of JuYe Dialect syntax. And it briefly organizes and states some other syntactic phenomenons that are not investigated in this paper.
