Research On The Semantics And Syntax Of Speech Verbs In Shanxi Dialect

Under the background of Shanxi dialect research,this paper selects a group of commonly used verbs which is also known as speech verbs as the research object.Based on the previous research results,this paper summarizes and collates the semantic and syntactic features of speech verbs in Shanxi dialect.There are five chapters in this thesis.The first chapter is an introduction which includes four parts.The first is the reason for choosing the topic;the second is the research status of speech verbs,focusing on the context of “Studies of Speech Act Verb under the Speech Act Theory” and “Studies of Speech Verbs in Chinese”;the third is the theoretical basis,briefly introducing speech act theory,Cognitive linguistics theory and valence theory;the fourth is an overview of Shanxi dialect and sources of corpus.The second chapter is the category of speech verb and members of speech verb.This chapter first uses the “Idealized Cognitive Model”in cognitive linguistics to fully describe the category of speech acts and the category of speech verbs,explains that speech verbs are verbs that express speech concepts,and their semantics are the mapping of speech concepts in language.Secondly,according to the semantic features,the speech verbs are divided into general speech verbs,shouting&whispering verbs,nagging verbs,interjective&continuous verbs,interactive speech verbs,informing verbs,and responding verbs,directives verbs,expressive verbs,and false speech verbs.According to these ten categories,we collected and sorted out the verbs of speech in Shanxi dialect.This paper collects more than 300 verbs in Shanxi dialect,and briefly summarizes the distribution of verbs in Shanxi.The third chapter is the study of the semantic of speech verbs in Shanxi dialect.Firstly,this chapter introduces the method of conceptual component analysis.According to the method,the seven dimensions of elements such as action,speaker,listener,manner,content,intention,and result are separated from the concept of speech behavior.Taking these seven dimensions as coordinates,this chapter analyzes the semantics of more than300 speech verbs,and sums up the lexicalization model of the speech verbs in Shanxi dialect.The fourth chapter is the study of the syntax of speech verbs in Shanxi dialect.This chapter investigates the syntactic performance of speech verbs in Shanxi dialect from four perspectives: one is valence and sentence structure.According to the number of obligatory arguments of speech verb,the speech verbs of Shanxi dialect can be divided into one-valence verbs,two-valence verbs and three-valence verbs.Each type of speech verb has a corresponding basic sentence structure and its variants.The second is the collocation with aspect marking.Shanxi dialect verbs can be marked with achievement aspect markers,experiential aspect markers,ingressive aspect markers,durative aspect markers and progressive aspect markers.The third is the collocation with quantity complements.Except for individual verbs,most of speech verbs in Shanxi dialect can take both momentum complement and time complement.The fourth is overlapping.The overlapping forms of speech verbs in Shanxi dialect are AA,ABAB,AABB,AAB and ABB.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.This chapter briefly summarizes the main content of the full thesis,points out the shortcomings of this paper,and puts forward some assumptions for future research on related issues.
