Green-banner Troops Of Gansu Province And North-west Frontier Of China In Qing Dynasty

As an important western land,Gansu province was established the most amount of Green Standard Army soldiers in the Qing Dynasty, which not only played an important role of stabling the local community, but also took care of Xinjiang and Shanxi province. So the study of "The green-banner of troops of Gansu province"is an important Subject of the military history of the Qing Dynasty, History of the Northwest Frontier, and the local history of Gansu province.Currently, "The study of Green Camp Soldier" of Luo ergang as the representative, which did a better study to the overall condition of the green-banner of troops, and also to the green-banner of troops of Taiwan, Fujian and Yunnan province. In comparison, the Green Standard Army regional research of northwest and northern areas as Gansu province etc. is still sadly lacking. In addition, the academic study of the history of the Northwest Frontier is a lack from the perspective of the Green Standard Army. In this academic context, this paper absorbed the relate academic results, and collected related information from the record, files, and history of description,and try my best to study the developed course, deploy feature and function of the Gansu Green Standard Army. In the previous basis, gained a little new view as follow.Firstly, Elaborated the developed and changed course of the Green Standard soldiers of Gansu from Shunzhi years (AD 1645) to the end of the Qing Dynasty. Especially disscussed the construction,re-establish after putting down the Sanfan rebellion, the protection region of Gansu Green Standard Army expanded from the middle of Hexi Corridor to the Guanxi region during the period of putting down the Hezhuo brother, the fading after Jiaqing and daoguang years,and rectification during the operation by Zuo zongtang.Secondly, explored the relationship between the Gansu Green Standard Army and the Eight Banners, on the basis of comparing garrison situation of Green Camp of Gansu and the Eight Banners,subordination to the system, and the generals authority, this thesis probed Eight Banners'conformity,supervision and control to the Gansu Green Standard Army by adding Military attache.and the function of improving the Combat capability and Strengthening Interaction; In addition.At the period of suppressing Sanfan rebellion and the Military forces to Xibei,the two armies fought side by side in the period of fighting the rebellion of Sanfan to maintaining the rule of the Qing Dynasty, and formed a close relationship.Third, discussed the Green Standard Army of Gansu'influence to local society. As major force to maintain stability in Gansu, the Green Standard Army not only provided stable social environment for economic and social development in Gansu, while had a direct role in promoting immigration, social and economic development for garrison etc.Fourth, studied the effect of Gansu to the stability in Xinjiang. Green-banner troops of Gansu province not only had big effect in unificating and recovering Xingjiang province,but also took the ability of protecting Xingjiang in the form of changing station, which played a effective role in defensing Xinjiang's long-term stability. In addition,the course directly or indirectly led to the immigrants to Shaanxi-Gansu from Xinjiang province.
