| Located in the west of Indochina, Myanmar is an important neighbor of China. According to China's rapid development, the trade between two countries and the cultural exchanges become leveraged. Myanmar society pays more attention to Chinese Language. Large numbers of Chinese-language learners have been continuous increased. Nowadays, the main force of Chinese-language teaching in Myanmar is the oversea-Chinese private schools, in both primary and secondary level. Due to the(?)more amounts of students and language courses in those private schools, the present situation affects to the more shortage of Chinese-language instructors, which restricted the dissemination of the biggest factor of Chinese teaching in Myanmar. Thus, Chinese-language teaching in oversea private schools needs to achieve a qualitative breakthrough, focused on the teaching staff, in particular, the excellent instructors.In thesis, a group of teaching staff in primary and secondary schools of Myanmar's Lashio City is set as a sample. Researcher did the qualitative and quantitative research of Chinese teachers through a large number of questionnaire survey and field interviews, in order to understand the current situation of Chinese-language teachers in Myanmar, teaching situations and problems, while offering some feasible suggestions for improving the quality of Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools. Full-text paper consists of five chapters:the first chapter is about research purpose, significance and the present state of research, also describes about the history of Chinese-language teaching in Myanmar. The second chapter surveys and analyzes the basic conditions of teachers in the oversea-Chinese primary and secondary schools in Lashio City. The survey includes with the natural conditions of teachers, the quality development of teachers;specifically related to the age structure of teachers, teacher's nationality distribution, career outlook and teacher's scientific research situation and so on. The third chapter focuses on the teaching situation survey. Research also investigates the relationship between teachers and teaching materials e.g. the problems about teacher's handbook using, the evaluation of teaching materials. Chapterâ…£examines the survey about teacher training situation in oversea private schools in Lashio. Using the survey of Myanmar teacher training model and existing methods of teacher training, researcher investigates in the circumstance of teacher training since started-working and the training content, and then discusses the expectations of the teachers about the training in the future. Chapterâ…¤is the conclusion. After the survey result analysis concludes, found that there are many problems such as uneven levels of academic background of Chinese teachers in Lashio. Moreover, the professional level is not high while the research capacity and computer capacity is weak. About teachers lesson planning and teaching program is also inadequate. To solve these problems, this paper gives three suggestions as followed:First, relying on the help of China through various forms of teacher training exchanges and cooperation to improve the ability of teachers; Second, Myanmar organizations should accelerate the construction of specialized teachers and the institutionalization of teacher management; Third, Chinese teachers must improve their own quality. |
