Objective Based on knowledge of the oldest-old's grip strength level and its influence factors, we do training on their finger flexible and strength ability and do research on the feasibility and effectiveness to carry out the intervention on their grip strength in order to provide theoretical and empirical basis for other studies in this field.Method①Survey, with cluster sampling method and using self-made questionnaire and grip device etc., we did survey on the status of the oldest-old's grip strength and related factors in The First People's Hospital of Hangzhou and Hangzhou Social Welfare Center.②Experimental study, We did filter on the oldest-old from the above two institutions. After randomly choosing40people from each and separating them into intervention group and comparison group, we did grip intervention study on them for three months.Result①Survey on status of the oldest-old's grip strength:The average value of the oldest-old's grip strength is12.1±8.0(Kg), female grip strength value is lower than that of men, and the value decreases with age increasing; value is different based on different education background, occupation before retirement exercise status and BMI; the ones with low grip strength value are likely to have high value of impaired ability to take care of themselves, also with heavier damage extent.②Intervention on the oldest-old:After intervention on the oldest-old finger flexibility and strength for3months, the average value of their grip strength improves by2.2Kg, and the result is statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion The oldest-old's hand function exercise should be enhanced in order to maintain and improve their grip strength, promoting their own living skills.
