Objective: To analyze the epidemiological characteristics and trend of hepatitis Bfrom1990to2010in Jiangxi Province, and understand the status of knowledge, behavior and attitudes about hepatitis B among residents in districts withhigh-prevalence of Jiangxi Province, in order to provide evidence for furtherhepatitis B prevention and control, and enhance the ability of integrated preventionand control of hepatitis B, and ultimately achieve the purpose of reducing theincidence of hepatitis B.Methods:1,Epidemiological data of hepatitis B obtained from disease reporting system inJiangxi Province and demographic data obtained from statistical yearbook instatistics bureau of Jiangxi Province were analyzed by descriptive epidemiologicalmethod, using SAS9.2.2,According to the report of the National Notifiable Disease Surveillance System,we took the whole population between the ages of eighteen and fifty-nine in fourHepatitis B high-prevalence districts of Jiangxi Province as the target population.3826residents were sampled from the survey districts by stratified cluster sampling.Using the uniform self-design questionnaires, these residents were epidemiologicallyinvestigated on knowledge-attitude-practice related to Hepatitis B. After being sorted,it would be analyzed by such as t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and themultiple regression models, using Epidata3.0and SAS9.2.Results:1,From1990to2010, a total of460139cases of virus hepatitis B were reported inJiangxi Province, the yearly average incidence rate was52.93/lakh and it wasincreasing. Most hepatitis B occurred in persons whose age between15~49years old, occupied in82.37percent. The incidence had an obvious reduction in children. Theincidence in male was higher than in female (3:1). Most of the patients were peasantsand workers. The virus hepatitis B was no clear summit of invasion season. 2,The average awareness rate of knowledge about hepatitis B was46.99%, whichwas at a low level. The awareness rate about hepatitis B can be prevention byvaccination was highest (75.22%) in all questions, and questions about hepatitis Bwas infected by blood transfusion were higher, which was more than63%, but thepopulation in survey had not a comprehensive understanding about hepatitis B dailyinfection routes. And question about was lowest in all questions (21.48%). Insummary, the rates of questions related to the possible outcomes after infection ofhepatitis B viruses, the treatment outcome and the daily infection ways of HepatitisB, and immunization knowledge of Hepatitis B vaccine were especially low.3,As a result of survey, the population in the districts of JiangXi Province withhigh-prevalence of hepatitis B had not actively attitude about prevention of hepatitisB, only23.11%-31.97%subjects will to have a friend, eating, living with hepatitis Bpatients, or accept the situation that spouse was hepatitis B patients/carriers, but itwas easier for them to accept the situation that relatives were hepatitis Bpatients/carriers. And74.86%subjects noted whether the tableware was clean whenthey went to dinner, but more than half subjects did not fear of infection withhepatitis B to tattoo/pierced ears and clinics measures. Another more than halfsubjects thought that it should be abolished restrictions on the examination of theemployment and studies of hepatitis B patients/carriers, as well as legislation toprotect patients with hepatitis B/carriers privacy.4,As a result of survey, the high-risk behavior of hepatitis B had been graduallyreduced in the population of the districts with high-prevalence of hepatitis B, butabout8.39%subjects shared toothbrushes with others,47.13%male subjects went tothe barber's shop to repair hair and shave,11.78%female subjects had a traumahistory of beauty, and only11.91%subjects had done hepatitis B test. In spite of75.22%subjects recognize that the hepatitis B vaccine is the best way to preventhepatitis B, only27.23%subjects had the hepatitis B.Conclusion:1,The incidence of hepatitis B in JiangXi Province was increasing year by year, andthe number of hepatitis B had reached the first in the biological type of viral hepatitis, and increasing year by year in the proportion of hepatitis. So we should still paygreat attention to hepatitis B, prevention and control must be strengthened. Adoptingintegrated control measures, developing health education and propaganda, improving immunizationg coverage rate of hepatitis B vaccine both in neonatalchildren and other population, like children below15, high risk population andemphasis population, then decreasing incidence of hepatitis B.2,The population had less knowledge about the prevention and control of hepatitis Bin districts with high-prevalence of hepatitis B in JiangXi Province. So healtheducation of hepatitis B knowledge especially transmission ways is necessary forpopulation with less knowledge, focusing on those who elders, with low educationdegree, farmers and workers, to decrease the incidence of hepatitis B and eliminatethe discrimination against hepatitis B.
