Many urine, obesity, high blood sugar, high blood fat, sweating out, these are all signs of "more"; lack of power, drinking, hunger, thirsty, are "less" signs.2groups significant indicate that the "convert" function is not enough in DM. From2009to2010, we collected144outpatient subjects with DMIIin Beijing and Tianjin, who was treated by treatment group-compound Clam decoction and control group-Jinlida liquid under randomization and double-blind design for12weeks, evaluated the symptom scores, fasting blood and2hours after a meal glucose, TC, TG,HDL, LDL, HBALC. Explore and confirm the effect and safety of compound Clam decoction in DM Ⅱ according to the thought of "convert" by 《Chinese New Drug Clinical Research Guideline》.[Result]During analysis of125subjects of SS, there is no statistically different in Baseline demography and disease severity level between two groups. The results showed that the before and after treatment symptoms total score of treatment group were17.280±9.464and8.890±4.550, the control group were18.480±9.004and12.080±5.7991, P<0.05, the results showed that there are statistically significant differences between2groups. And in the shortness of breath lazy to talk, the night urination, forgetfulness and other three single symptoms, the treatment group is better than control group. the decline of fasting blood glucose in treatment and control groups were10.37%and7.45%; and2hours after a meal glucose in treatment and control groups were14.00%and7.03%, P<0.05, the results showed that there are statistically significant differences between2groups. HBALC also have a downward trend in treatment group. LDL of treatment group in site01also became better significantly. The final total effective rate showed that treatment group was72.13%, higher than54.69%of control group, Z=-2.425, P=0.015.[Conclusion]The study showed that it is effective and safe to use compound Clam decoction in DM Ⅱ according to the thought of "convert". Compound Clam decoction was drafted in "Synopsis of Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber", according to the paragraph about food and drink convert in "canon of medicine", focus on "convert" for recovering the function of food and drink convert in human body, it was unique and smart.
