The Analysis Of The Retinal Thickness In Refractory Amblyopia Eyes

Objective:To detect the retinal thickness by using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) in refractory amblyopia eyes,And to investigate whether the morphology of macula changes or not,then to discuss its mechanism.Method:To collect cases from out-patient in The Medical School Hospital Of Qingdao University.27cases(30 eyes) of refractory amblyopia eyes were selected as the experimental group.In addition, 22cases(30 eyes) of recovered amblyopia eyes and 19cases(30 eyes) of normal eyes with the same age (diopter<±1.00D) were selected as the normal control group.The children of the experimental group and the normal control group were fast-scaned by using Optical Coherence Tomography(OCT) in the macula. Average thickness of the foveola the fovea (1-mm diameter range) and the superior,inferior,nasal,temporal parafovea (the ring of 3-mm diameter) was then assessed by macular retinal tomography map measurement. Finally, the results were analyzed statistically and the retinal thickness was compared in different areas.Result:The foveola thickness of refractory amblyopia eyes,recovered amblyopia eyes and normal control eyes were respectively (198.83±32.33)μm,(189.57±29.59)μm,(178.10±29.29)μm.The data of three groups were compared.P was 0.03,0.004,<0.001 separately. P<0.05, so there were significant differences in the foveola thickness among the three groups.The average fovea thickness of refractory amblyopia eyes,recovered amblyopia eyes and normal control eyes were respectively (225.47±19.85)μm,(219.93±18.55)μm,(213.47±28.33)μm. The data of three groups were compared. P was 0.03,0.045,<0.001 separately. P<0.05, so there were significant differences in the average fovea thickness among the three groups. The retinal thickness of superior,inferior,nasal,temporal parafovea in refractory amblyopia eyes were respectively 298.70±27.71μm,298.63±26.36μm,298.00±31.5μm,292.27±30.04μm. The average parafovea thickness of the four quadrants in recovered amblyopia eyes were respectively 300.10±25.46μm,297.33±31.04μm,298.33±34.23μm,286.57±24.87μm.The average parafovea thickness of the four quadrants in normal control eyes were respectively 297.07±23.28μm,294.57±39.27μm,299.07±24.48μm,294.57±39.27μm. The data divided in the four quadrants of three groups were respectively compared.P>0.05, so there was no significant difference in the average parafovea thickness among the three groups.Conclusion:The retinal thicknesses of foveola and fovea in refractory amblyopie eyes was thicker than those in the other two groups.
