Objective:To investigate the effects of GuBenKeLi on the Lymphocyte and the contents of cytokines (IL-8,TNF-α) in BALF and serum of COPD Rats Model and clarify the mechanism of action on curing COPD to provide experimental evidences for the clinical applications with GuBenKei Capsule.Methods:50 male Wistar rats were divided randomly into five groups:Normal control group, Model control group, Prednisone group, GuBenKeLi low dose group, GuBenKeLi high dose group, each group with 10 rats. Then we copied COPD Rats Model by being smoked and inhaled with LPS. At the same time, each group was given relevant medicines. After eight weeks, we killed all the rats. And then we observed the changes of lung histomorphology of rats of various groups, surveyed the contents of cytokines (IL-8,TNF-α) in BALF and serum. Results:Changes of bronchial and pulmonary histopathology in each group were typical, pointed out that COPD Rats Model were successful. Compared to Normal control group, Model control group had unbalance in the contents of cytokines in BALF and serum. There are significant differences between three Treatment groups and Model control group (p<0.05). From the perspective of improving the general conditions of COPD Rats Model and imbalances in the contents of cytokines in BALF and serum, the effect in Prednisone group is the most significant, GuBenKeLi (high dose) group comes second, and GuBenKeLi (low dose) group is the third.Conclusion:1) GuBenKeLi could alleviate the airway inflammation and affected the contents of cytokines in BALF and serum and alleviated Lymphocyte infiltration in COPD rats model.2) The mentioned activities have dose-response relationship, namely, the activities increase with increasing dose.
