Objective To investigate the changes of serum CXCL16 levels in the patients with acute cerebral infarction (ACI), and their relationship with The Trial of Org10172 in Acute Stroke Treatment (TOAST).Methods The levels of serum CXCL16 were measured by enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assay (ELISA) in 113 patients with ACI and 32 controls. The patients were divided according to TOAST subtypes, and all the subgroups compared with 32 controls. Results The levels of serum CXCL16 in ACI group and large artery atherosclerosis(LAA) group and small artery occlusion(SAO) group were significantly higher than those in control group (all P< 0.01). serum CXCL16 levels in LAA group were much higher than those in SAO group (P< 0.01). In LAA group, serum CXCL16 levels in A(≥two artery stenosis) group were not statistically significant than those in B(one artery stenosis) group(P>0.05).Conclusion 1 In AI S,the concentration of serum CXCL16 was increased, and it has close relation with TOAST subtypes.2 The levels of serum CXCL16 was unrelated with narrow subbranches of large arteries.3 Trying to find the methods of closing chemotatic factors positively has clinic significance.
