Improving awareness of the relationshipbetween depression and OSA might significantly improve diagnosticaccuracy as well as treatment outcome for both disorders. In this study,we will analyse clinical data of88patients which have been clearlydiagnosed obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.,and discuss the correlation of depression with OSA and its influence for clinical work. Objective: To explore the correlation between obstructive sleep apneasyndrome and depression. Methods: Using descriptive research methods, investigate88obstructivesleep apnea syndrome patients. The data ofcollection by using Excel establish database, and using software ofSPSS13.0proceed statistical analysis.Results:88OSA patients of depression rate of47.7%. Light, medium, heavy with the incidence of depression is22.7%,44.4%and70.0%respectively.88patients with OSA, with the rise of depression scores,BIM, AHI and ESS were increased, the night SaO2minreduced.Conclusion:1.OSA and depression has correlation, the incidence ofdepression in patients with the severity of the illness of the increases withthe increase.2.88patients with OSA, depression scores and BMI, AHI,ESS were positively correlated, with the night SaO2min was negativelycorrelated.3. OSA patients should be vigilant the depression, and theinvestigation of the depression in patients with OSA should be routine, help to clinical diagnosis and treatment.
