With the growth of average life and decline of birth rate, problem of aging populationhas appeared. Elderly could suffer from various chronic and degenerative diseases, whichneed special care. In recent years, with development of wearable telemedicine and networktechnology, it makes remote monitoring for elderly as possible. Health remote monitoring isthe use of information technology to achieve the long distance monitoring of physiologicalparameters, so it could master the physiological state of ward. Wearable telemedicineequipment on the human body can achieve non-intrusive and non-invasive medical diagnosticmonitoring. It has lots of characteristics, such as removable operation, convenient of use, longtime of work, smart display of diagnostic results, abnormal physical condition alarm, wirelessdata transmission, real time monitoring and control of remote data and so on. Thedevelopment of network technology, especially the development of wireless communicationnetwork, it provides guarantee to realize mobile health care. More importantly, the procedureof remote monitoring doesn't affect the daily activities of old people at home.The paper describes research background of health remote monitoring in detail, and alsodescribes the current status of remote monitoring research at home and abroad. Then itintroduces related knowledge of human body sensor network and advanced encryptionstandard.Based on the problem of body area sensor network security, the paper considers somekinds of human body physiological information, extracts their features into digital code, andanalyses the corresponding cryptography features through methods of cryptography. Andfinally it selects appropriate physiological information which is time interval between peaksof ECG for identification and authentication. In this paper, a novel biometrics based mixedcryptosystem, including the key generation, distribution and management, low power dataencryption algorithms and identification approach, is adopted for BSN. The keys aregenerated from physiological signals and transmitted by a secure mechanism. The data signalframe being transmitted is defined and AES as a stream cipher and block cipher are adopted toencrypt different parts of the signal frame. It could resolve the problem of securitytransmission in body area sensor network, and provide guarantee to realize data mining andreal time making decision for remote monitoring center. Finally the paper designs a novelsystem of remote monitoring network, and discuses some key technology to realize thesystem. The realization of novel health remote monitoring has important practical significancefor us.
