KONG Yinghong,CHENG Xingbo.Department of Endocrinology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University,Suzhou 215006,CHINAObjective To explore the change and clinical significance of serum vaspin levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) and T2DM patients with microangiopathy. Methods 80 patients with T2DM were divided into two subgroups according to UAER≥and <20μg/min:diabetes group(SDM , 40cases) and diabetic nephropathy group(DN,40cases).And 30 subjects with normal glucose tolerance were selected as controls(NC,30cases).The level of fasting serum vaspin was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results The serum vaspin levels of the three groups turned to be DN group <NC group <SDM group.Correlation analysis showed that vaspin correlated with sex,BMI,FIns,HOMA-IR positively.Vaspin was negatively correlated with duration and UAER.In a multiple stepwise linear regression analysis, sex,BMI and FIns were independent determinants for serum vaspin concentrations. Conclusion Serum vaspin may contribute partly to the pathogenesis of obesity, insulin resistance,T2DM and microangiopathy of diabetes.
