Objective:To detect the expression of chemokine receptor CCR5 in human Non-small-cell lung cancer and explore the role of CCR5 in lung cancer. Methods:Twenty samples of Non-small-cell lung cancer and Twenty samples of benign lung tumors were analyzed separately by immunohistochemical staining for CCR5 expression. MIP1α, MIP1βand RANTES concentrations in the serum of patients were measured by ELISA.Results:The expression of CCR5 was detected in Non-small-cell lung cancer (the positive rate was 65%), and in benign lung tumors(the positive rate was 15%,p< 0.05). RANTES concentration in the serum of Non-small-cell lung cancer patients increased(p< 0.01) while MIP1αand MIP1βchanged little compared with those in the serum of benign lung tumors.Conclusion:CCR5 is expressed in human Non-small-cell lung cancer, and it may play an important role in the pathogenesis of human Non-small-cell lung cancer. RANTES may be the main ligand of CCR5 in the progression of Non-small-cell lung cancer.
