Analysis On The Condition Of The Staff In Blood Transfusion Services Of East China

Objectives:Blood is resource of human beings. The workers of blood transfusion services should make sure blood safety during the whole process from blood donors'vessel to receivers'. What's more, they should vastly promote blood donation in order to get adequate clinical blood. To know well the condition of the staff of blood transfusion services in the east of China, and then analyze problems existing, this article draws up strategies which benefit the staff development in blood transfusion services with height, pertinence and gradation, and makes this research.Methods:With the forms on questionnaire about blood donation without repayment, the investigators who have been trained surveyed 103 blood transfusion services in the east of China by questionnaire and on-site investigation. The survey covers the total condition, quality of organization, administrative level, management mode, quantity of staff, quantity of medical technicians, talent structure and amount of blood collection. This survey shows and makes statistics about conditions of blood transfusion services and staff, then analyzes the problems and disadvantages about staff's structure and level of blood transfusion services in the east of China, and provides with related Strategies and advice. To type date with Excel 2003 software system, then to deal with them with SPSS13.0 statistical software, and finally to analyze statistical data.Results:The date of this survey is about the staff condition in 11 blood transfusion services with provincial level including 11 blood centers and 92 blood stations until 2008. It shows that there are some problems on quality and management in blood transfusion services in the east of China, such as, units with balance allocation make up a high rate which is 51.46% with 53 ones; and there being 10 units with expenses and receipts by themselves; meanwhile, the units with self-management mode make up a rate of24.27% with 25 ones, which all need to improve into standard management. On staff condition of blood transfusion services in the east of China, the quantity of authorized personnel is 7652, which makes up 66.86% of total members. That is, there are one third non-authorized personnel. What's more, there are 34 person with Doctor title, 259 person with Master title, and 157 person with senior title of professional post in the east, who are mostly concentrated in blood centers with provincial level. But while it shows the rate of staff with no education level and no title is the highest in blood centers of the east, especially in the blood centers with 80 ton blood collection. About the work efficiency of staff, the per capita amount of blood collection in blood centers is lower than in blood stations, and the per capita amount of blood collection is the lowest in blood centers with high total amount.Conclusions:1. The units with self-management mode made up high proportion among 103 blood transfusion services in the east, and they didn't totally achieve the commonweal of these services.2. These units lacked of quantity of staff and of non-authorized personnel. The proportion of authorized personnel in blood centers was lower than in blood stations, and the proportion in blood centers with high total amount of blood collection was lower than in ones with low total amount.3. The proportion of medical technicians on blood collection and supply was low. The proportion of medical technicians in blood centers was lower, and the proportion was the lowest in the blood center with the highest total amount of blood collection. Meanwhile the proportion of medical technicians didn't achieve the standard proportion in all blood transfusion services.4. The talent structure wasn't reasonable. It lacked of workers with senior title of professional post and with high educational level in blood centers and blood stations. What's further, the proportion of workers with senior title of professional post and Doctor title was higher but the proportion of workers without senior title of professional post and high educational level was also higher in blood centers than in blood stations.5. The work efficiency of staff was quite different. The per capita amount of blood collection in blood centers was lower than in blood stations, but the per capita amount was the lowest in the blood center with the highest total amount.
