Objective: To provide evidence for medical management by understanding inpatients'disease composition and change trend in our hospital from 2002 to 2010.Methods: Collection, statistics and analysis were done to disease classification data of discharged patients in a hospital from 2002 to 2010. Results The number of inpatients increased year by year. The top 10 diseases were: circulatory system diseases, malignant neoplasms, respiratory system diseases, digestive system diseases, injuries and poisoning, geitourinary system diseases, nervous system diseases, endocrine nutritional and metabolic diseases, musculoskeletal system and connective tissue diseases, pregnancy childbirth and the puerperium. In the last nine years, the age variance of inpatients was obvious while the gander ratio was not much different. The death causes of the first five were circulatory system diseases, malignant neoplasms, respiratory system diseases, injuries and poisoning, digestive system diseases.Conclusion: Hospitals should pay close attention to the changes of disease composition and rationally allocate medical resources with view to providing higher quality medical services for patients. |
