Objective: This study will compare the parameters of left ventricular function measured by 64-slice spiral CT with echocardiography, and analysis the difference and correlation between them, discusses the valuable of assessment of left ventricular function with 64SCT.Method: 78 patients were suffered with suspected coronary heart disease patients, including male 57 patients, female 21 cases, age 35 to 55, and the average age is (48.2 + 10.3). All selected objects are excluded organic heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, inflammatory disease, an immune-mediated disease, surgery and injury history in one month. All patients underwent 64SCT and Echo, none medication was taken to control the heart rate before both the examinations .and the time interval does not exceed 1 week, and all patients have sinus rhythm. The doctors who completed two examinations has 3 years or above working experience in this profession. 64SCT with retrospective electrocardiographic-gating, obtain the original image and load to the heart function analysis software (Argus Syngo) to calculate the parameters of function. Then, for Echo , left ventricular end diastolic volume(LVEDV),left ventricular end systolic volume(LVESV),left ventricular ejective fraction(LVEF),left ventricular stroke volume(LVSV)and left ventricular myocardial mass(LVMM)was calculated by using Teichholz corrective formula in M -mode.Statistical treatment: (1) the comparison of all the parameters with two measurements: measurement data is normal distribution and variance, so two sample comparison designed t test. (2)compare both the parameters of left ventricular function with two measurements with Pearson correlation analysis. All the data are analyzed by using SPSS13.0, We take P<0.05 as statistic significance level.Result: The parameters of left ventricular function obtained with 64SCT were significantly correlated with the Echo data(r=0.959,0.758,0.918,0.989 and 0.894,P<0.001). There was a significantly larger overestimated of LVEDV and LVESV with 64SCT than with Echo (p<0.05).LVEF and LVMM was lower by 64SCT than Echo (p<0.05).LVSV was not significantly different (p>0.05).Conclusion: Echo is a common method to evaluate left ventricular function, this study showed that an excellent correlation between 64SCT and Echo.64SCT income left ventricular function of each index and Echo difference was statistically significant, and the correlation is very good. Therefore, evaluate left ventricular function with 64SCT in clinical work is feasible and it can be used as a supplement of CT coronary angiography.
