ObjectiveTo Study the pathogenesis related factors in pregnancy associated with acute pancreatitis (AP), clinical characteristics and the impact on mother and child.MethodA study of 31 cases of pregnancy associated with acute pancreatitis is classified as group A. Where B group, control group, included 36 non-pregnant patients associated with acute pancreatitis. Data were collected at our hospital from Jan. 2005 to Jan. 2011. Retrospective analysis of risk factors, clinical features and the impact on mother and child of pregnancy associated with AP was performed. Besides the exploration of treatment characteristics.Result1.Etiologies: The main causes in group A ,respectively include hyperlipidemia (14/31, 45.2%), biliary tract diseases (7/31, 22.6% ),eating greasy food (6/31, 19.4%) .While group B included biliary tract diseases (17/36, 47.2%), hyperlipidemia (8/36, 22.2%), alcohol drinking (5/36, 13.9%).Etiology variations showed statistical significance(P<0.05).2.Clinical manifestations: severe cases in group A (14/31, 45.3%) is noticeably much higher than in group B (7/36, 19.5%) ,difference showed statistical significance(P<0.05).Complications incidence in group A is higher than in group B, as shock, MODS, pancreatic psuedocyct, pancreatic abcess, Paralytic ileus, intestinal obstruction, acute respiratory failure, renal insufficiency and ascites. difference showed statistical significance(P<0.05).3.Laboratory tests: in group A, the incidence of increased leukocyte, hypokalemia, anemia, high Triglycerides and hyperglycemia is higher than that in group B. This proves statistical significance(P<0.05).4.Treatment of AP and its effects on both the mother and the infant and: in A group there were no death cases. Cases suffered cesarean section followed by peritoneal shunt(17/31, 54.9%), normal delivery(6/31, 19.4%),babortion (3/31, 9.7%) ,premature delivery (5/31,16.1%),fetal death in 4 cases, ERCP surgery in 3 cases, gallstone surgery in 1 case, hemodialysis in 4 cases. In B group 30 cases were cured by conservative treatment. 4 cases were operated as of gallstone pancreatitis and 2 cases of death.Conclusions1.The major related factors in AP associated with pregnancy mainly include hyperlipidemia. However non-pregnancy group included biliary tract disease.2. The incidence of AP during pregnancy is much higher than in non-pregnant AP,with more complications and a higher rate of mortality.3.Pregnancy associated with AP offen causes premature delivery,Termination of pregnancy, more ever it causes infant death. Therefore it has a greatly serious effect on the mother.4.Early blood purification therapy is the key to successful treatment of pregnancy associated with AP.
