Comparison Of Two Kinds Of Internal Fixations Treatment Of Sanders Ⅲand Ⅳ Intra-articular Calcaneal Fractures

Objective:To evaluate the effect the treatment of SandersⅢandⅣintra-articular calcaneal fractures with A (calcaneal locking plate) and B (calcaneal general plate). To provide reference of opting for internal fixations for clinician.Methods:From July 2006 to September 2010, a total of 65 patients with SandersⅢandⅣintra-articular calcaneal fractures were treated by open reduction and internal fixation using the calcaneal locking plates and calcaneal general plate。It was divided into two groups according to two kinds of surgery fixation . One group is calcaneal locking plate fixation(A group). there are 34 cases, this included 22 male patients and 12 female patients, ages ranging from 18 to 65 years old, with the average meas of 34±5.71 years old. Another group is calcaneal general plate fixation(B group), there are 33 cases, this included 24 male patients and 9 female patients, ages ranging from 15 to 67 years old, with the average meas of 35±7.01 years old. The excellent and good rate time of weight loading,time of bone union and the indexes of calcaneal morphology (Bohler angle (°)) of the two kinds of internal fixations treatment were compared and analysed.Results:There were significant statistic differences in the excellent and good rate,time of weight loading,time of bone union and the indexes of calcaneal morphology(Bohler angle (°))between the two groups (p<0.05)Conclusion:The calcaneal locking plate worked well at angle stabilization and anti-pull out in the treatment of SandersⅢandⅣintra-articular calcaneal fractures with a good protection on the soft tissue and blood supply. The calcaneal locking plate provides a high excellent and good rate,stable fixation,early weight loading and early time of bone union, which is much better than calcaneal general plate. it is the preferred fixation materials of treatment of Sanders III andⅣintra-articular calcaneal fractures...
