Expression And Significance Of Gelsolin And CyclinD1 In Epithelial Ovarian Tumors

Objective:To study the expression and significance of gelsolin and cyclinDl in epithelial ovarian tumors. And to discover the significance of the expression of gelsolin and cyclinDl to the the genesis, progression and prognosis of the epithelial ovarian tumorsMethods:Immunohistochemy (S-P technique) was applied in 65 cases of epithelial ovarian tumors,18 cases of ovarian borderline tumors and 24 normal ovarian tissue samples to detect the expression of gelsolin and cyclinD1。Furthermore,we analyze the relationship of these markers and the relationship between these clinicpathological parameters and the expression of gelsolin and cyclinDl,and the relationship of gelsolin and cyclinD1.Results:Expression of gelsolin was observed in borderline(33.3%) and malignant epithelial ovarian tumors (16.9%) and in normal ovarian tissues (75%).There was distinct difference in borderline and malignant epithelial ovarian tumors compared with that in normal ovarian tissues (P<0.01); however, there was no difference between the expressions of gelsolin in borderline and malignant ovarian tumors (P>0.05); Over-expression of cyclinDl was observed in borderline(38.9%) and malignant epithelial ovarian tumors(67.7%) and in normal ovarian tissues (8.3%). There was distinct difference in borderline and malignant epithelial ovarian tumors, in borderline epithelial ovarian tumors and normal ovarian tissues,and in malignant epithelial ovarian tumors and normal ovarian tissues (P<0.01, P<0.05).The expression of gelsolin and the over-expression of cyclinDl had no correlation with clinicpathological features in malignant epithelial ovarian tumors such as age, pathological type, histological differentiation and clinical stage(P>0.05).and there has no relationship between the expression of gelsolin and the over-expression of cyclinD1(P>0.05)Conclusions:The decreases expression of gelsolin and the over-expression of cyclinDl may play an important role in the genesis and progression of epithelial ovarian tumors, and participate in early stage of tumorigenesis。The expression of gelsolin and the over-expression of cyclinDl had no correlation with clinicpathological features in malignant epithelial ovarian tumors such as age, pathological type, histological differentiation and clinical stage(P>0.05).and there has no relationship between the expression of gelsolin and the over-expression of cyclinD1(P>0.05)...
