Cough is one of the main symptoms.of lung diseases.There is independent cause of cough and changes in condition.There are out-patients with cough almost every day.Cough is a kind of common diseases.Chinese medicine says that causes of cough include exogenous, internal injuries.Exogenou cough is caused.by evils such as wind, cold, heat, wet, dry, fire and others evils. Multiple internal injuries cough due to the pulmonary diseaseor become involving in the lung caused by other disease or the primary affection, and it's close to liver, spleen and kidney. Impairment of dispersing and descending function of the lung and adverse rising of pulmonary qi are its patho genesis. Clinical manifestation of cough contains cough and cough up phlegm.cough is a protective reflex.It is easy to be cured if you have great vital-qi or little evil-qi.But it will seriously affecte normal study, live or work of the patients if the cough last a long time.The objective of the study is to investigate the etiological factor,pathogenesis, and syndrome of traditional Chinese medicine First,the study is performed to investigate the previous syndrome study of traditional Chinese medicine and clinical feature of modern medicine. Based on the previous clinical experience and records,the principal syndrome and have been determined. Second,a total of 100 patients meeting the diagnostic criteria were enrolled.Epidemiological data,clinical features,tongue and pulse condition of exogenous cough were recorded in our study. Then statistical analysis about syndrome feature were performed in line with the syndrome diagnostic criteria of Chinese medicine.all cough-related symptoms were recorded.Syndrome differentiation and diagnosis are made by the diagnosis standard of exogenous cough and three main kinds of exogenous cough. Statistical results show that the rates of exopathic cough are ranke follows:Wind dryness cough19% Wind heat cough38% Wind cold cough43%.
