| [Background] In China, patients with glaucoma are nearly 10 million. Glaucoma is one of the major diseases leading to blindness, accounting for 5.3% to 21% of all the blind. Increased intra-ocular pressure is the most important risk factors inducing glaucoma and makes the glaucoma progressively worse. Currently, cholinergic drugs pilocarpine eye drops andβ-adrenergic receptor blocker timolol eye drops are combined in the clinical application to reduce intraocular pressure. In clinical practice, the nursing staff and the outpatient arrange the medication frequency accord-ing to the order and administration time according to the daily care routine. Administration time and administration order is casual, and there is no evidence to prove the best mode of admini-stration,so over the years a variety of information and research has not yet formed a unified specification.[Purpose] To study the joint application of the two anti-glaucoma medication------pilocarpine and timolol in different ways to find the best mode of administration and formulate the rational administration schedule.[Method] Experimental study.42 New Zealand white rabbits were randomly divided into 7 groups. They are control group, pilocarpine group, timolol group, the conventional dose group 1, the conventional dose group 2, gross fruit+timolol group, and timolol+trichocarpa group. Establish the ocular hypertension model of chronic glaucoma. After administrating the saline or drugs 10min,20min,30min,40min,60min,90min,120min,150min,180min,240min, measure the intraocular pressure to compare the changes. Then the 7 group rabbits were given the saline or eye drops according to different design for 28 days.28 days later, detect the Fas, FasL expression and changes in the retinal tissue.[Result] Trichocarpa+timolol group has significant effect on the intraocular pressure reducing duration(P<0.05), a statistically significant difference. Trichocarpa+timolol group expresses Fas and FasL weakly. Other groups showed different levels of strong expression, and compared with gross fruit+timolol group the difference is significant(P<0.01).[Conclusion] Administrate the Pilocarpine eye drops, and 30 minutes later administrate the timolol eye drops, this way has the best the effect on controlling the intraocular pressure and reducing the retinal cells apoptosis than other groups. |
