The measurement of intraocular pressure is essential to the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. However, a single measurement in the ophthalmologistps office may not reflect the intraocular pressure level at another time of the day . Multiple factors have an effert on the regular pattern of diurnal fluctuation. The synergistic effect of multiple factors result in the different pathomechanism. The article reviews the researches of diurnal intraocular pressure in glaucoma and debates the significance of intraocular pressure and its influencing factors for glaucoma diagnosis.
