Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of massage method on the treatment of chronic tonsillitis in children.Methods:120 patients with chronic tonsillitis were randomly divided into treatment and control groups, and were observed after one course of treatment. The treating group was treated with massage method, the control group was treated with Dong Ling Cao Tablet. Continuously for 1 week after treatment 2 times per week,1 month for a course. The changes of clinical symptoms,physical sign and times of recrudescence in all patients were observed before and after treatment. The results of the observation to be evaluated objectively and scientifically-All data were conducted using statistical software SPSS 13.0 statistical analysis.Results:1. Efficacy evaluation:Clinical 120 patients included final completion of 114 cases, and 6 cases of loss. The efficacy rate achieved in treating group was 87.93%, which was significantly better than that of the control group (76.78%).2. After treatment the scores of main symptoms and physical sign in treating group were significantly decreased than those in control group respectively (P<0.05)3. The times of recrudescence in treating group decreased more obviously than that in control group (P<0.01)4. Two groups even have not presented the obvious poisonous side effect.Conclusion:The massage method demonstrated satisfactory results in the treatment of chronic tonsillitis. The main symptoms and physical sign had been improved obviously; the time of outbreak had been decreased significantly. This convenient and efficient method accorded with clinical treatment of Pediatrics of TCM, which can be applied as an external treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
