Objective:To study the clinical value of combined detection of carotid artery intima-media thickness and coronary artery calcification score. To make a correlation analysis of their predictive value for coronary heart disease, compared with their weaknesses and strengths, make improvements.Methods:Selected 110 patients of the Cardiovascular Medicine on the Henan Provincial People's Hospital from July 2009 to June 2010. For various reasons, make coronary 64-slice spiral CT and coronary artery angiography examination, and routine ultrasound examination of carotid. Detected Carotid artery intima-media thickness, calculated coronary calcium score, and assessed the degree of coronary artery stenosis for each patient by Gensini scoring system.Divided into two groups by coronary artery angiography:disease group and control group. Application SPSS13.0 software, analysis the correlation between their and coronary heart disease, detect the clinical value.Results:①Compared with the disease group and control group, it has significant statistically differences with carotid IMT and CACS (P<0.05);②The incidence of carotid artery plaque of the disease group was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05), the incidence of carotid artery calcified plaque of the multi-vessel disease subgroup were significantly higher than single vessel disease subgroup (P <0.05), while the incidence was no significant difference between fibrous plaque with single vessel disease subgroup;③It has higher predictive value both CACS and IMT to CAD. Two groups patients were also positive both CACS and IMT, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:①Calcification is a sign of atherosclerosis. Detection and quantitative analysis of coronary artery calcification has important meaning to screening, diagnosis and prognosis of CAD. CACS can be used as an effective clinical indicator of CAD,but coronary artery calcification also have some influence to judge on the extent of coronary artery stenosis;②Carotid atherosclerosis has a direct link with coronary atherosclerosis, it can be indirected predicted the severity of coronary artery by the IMT.③It can better predict the occurrence and development of CAD combined with CACS quantitative analysis and measurement of carotid IMT, and it has important prognostic value of the severity of coronary artery disease.④We can as the first choice of carotid artery ultrasound screening for high risk patients with coronary heart disease, decided to further examination of MSCT or coronary angiography, savings part of the cost and shorten the inspection time, use of medical resources of reasonable.
