The Clinical Research On Vertebro-basilar Insufficiency Vertigo Threated With "Xingnao Kaiqiao" Method With Acupuncture

Objective:Summarize the treatment effects of Xingnao Kaiqiao method with acupuncture for VBI and explore its mechanism.Methods:65 cases of VBI were chosen and randomly divided into treatment group of 33 cases and control group of 32 cases in term of consulting random numeric table. The patients in the treatment group were treated by Xingnao Kaiqiao method with Acupuncture. The main acupuncture points selected were Baihui (DU20). Fengchi (GB20). Yifeng (SJ17) and Wangu (GB12). The patients in the control group were treated with Ozagrel, Ligustrazine injection drug Intravenous drip. It comprised two weeks in a course and every patient was treated once a day. They had been observed for one course in total. The following indexes were checked before and after the treatment of one course:(1) The main clinical symptoms and signs; (2) clinical effects; (3) Transcranial doppler (TCD) detected some indicators of vertebral artery and basal artery. For example. Systolic velocity (Vs), Flow velocity of mean(Vm), Velocity of diastasis (Vd), Pulsitility index (PI) and so on. Observe the clinical effects before and after the treatments based on all of these mentioned above.Results:(1). The results indicate that in the treatment group.12 cases were totally cured.20 cases were effective and 1 case was ineffective, the total effective rate was 97% in treatment group: in the control group,and 5 cases were totally cured,19 cases were effective,8 cases were ineffective, the total effective rate was 75% in the control group. The curative effect of two groups were significantly different (P<0.01). The curative effect in treatment group was better than that in control group.(2). The significant differences in two groups of clinical symptoms and physical signs before and after the treatment have statistical meaning. The curative effect in treatment group was better than that in control group.(3). There were 53 cases showing slower.7 cases showing quicker and 5 cases showing normal in vertebra-basilar artery blood flow velocity checked by TCD.(4). The results checked by TCD showed that there was no significant difference on Vs, Vm. Vd and PI before treatment. After treatment. Vs, Vm and Vd of VA and BA were increased and the improvement degree of the treatment group (P<0.01) was more obvious than that of the control group(P<0.05). The PI of VA and BA did not change significantly in the control group, however, the PI significantly decreased in the treatment group. There is a significant statistical meaning between the two groups after the treatment.Conclusion: (1) Xingnao Kaiqiao method with Acupuncture group and medicine control group all can improve the clinical symptoms and signs of the patients with VBI. but the effects of Xingnao Kaiqiao method with Acupuncture group is better than that of control group.(2) The treating methods of two groups can all improve the flow velocity and pulsitility index of VBA department, but the effects of Xingnao Kaiqiao method with Acupuncture group is better than that of control group.
