The Clinical Research Of Massage Therapy For Children With Rotavirus Enteritis

Objective: through the clinical research we objectively evaluate the effectiveness, safety and economy of massage therapy to treat children with rotavirus enteritis.Methods:from June 2009 to June 2010,we collected 60 patients with rotavirus enteritis during three research units,which are randomly divided into test group and control group,30 patients in each group. The treatment group is given by massage therapy,the control group is treated by Smecta and Bifid Lriple Viable.The primary and secondary symptoms of two groups are given quantitative score. Efficacy evaluation includes TCM symptoms and Western Medical disease. One course of treatment is three days.In general, each patient is observed for a course of treatment.In this study,we use SPSS to make statistical analysis.Results:the research results show that the two groups before treatment in children with demographic data, vital signs, treatment history, disease course, severity of disease, symptoms, signs, primary and secondary symptom score, total score, etc, have no statistical difference(P>0.05).After treatment,the primary and secondary symptoms are respectively better than before for two groups,they have statistical differences remarkably(P<0.01).In terms of these symptoms with stool texture, appetite, fingerprints,pulse, primary and secondary symptom score, total score, experimental group after treatment is better than the control group. They have statistical difference (P<0.05),but other symptoms and signs are similar between two groups. In terms of reduction of stool texture score, appetite score,primary and secordary symptom score before and after treatment,the treatment group is better than the control group,they have statistical difference (P<0.05).In term of treatment time, the average time of treatment of massage therapy group is shorter than the drug group, they have statistical difference remarkable(P<0.01).In the efficacy evaluation of TCM and Western Medical medicine, massage therapy is superior to drug therapy,it has statistical difference too(P>0.05). In the safety evaluation,no adverse event occurs among two groups. In terms of health economic evaluation, the cost of treatment between two groups has no statistical difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:massage therapy is not only a higher effective treatment of children with rotavirus enteritis,but it is also economic,safe and have shorter course of treatment. Compared with drug therapy, massage therapy can be better in improving stool texture, appetite,finger prints and pulse than drug therapy.
