Observation On Curative Effect Of The Therapeutic Method Of Medicinal Cake-separated Moxibustion With Chinese Herbal Enema On Ulcerative Colitis

Objective:To make an assessment on the clinical curative effect of therapeutic method of medicinal cake-separated moxibustion with chinese herbal enema on ulcerative colitis through the observation and research on the recovery of colonic mucosa and the clinic symptoms before and after the treatment.Method:According to the case inclusion criteria,60 cases of patients visited our hospital outpatient department and wards were selected between Sept,2009 and Jan,2011. They were divided randomly according to the order of visiting into treatment group and control group, each of which had 30 patients. The treatment group adopted the method of medicinal cake-separated moxibustion with chinese herbal enema while the control group adopted the method of pure chinese herbal enema. The changes on clinical symptoms and colonic mucosa of all the patients before and after the treatments were observed. The statistical software SPSS 16.0 for windows was used to analyze the aquired data.Results:1. In the first period of treatment, the main symptoms except abdominal distension and anorexia of both groups before and after the treatment all have statistical significance (P<0.05). In the second period, the main symptoms except anorexia of the treatment group before and after the treatment all have statistical significance (P<0.05), The main symptoms except abdominal distension and anorexia of the control group all have statistical significance (P<0.05).2. Curative effect comparison between both groups showed that after the first period of treatment, the main symptoms improvement of both groups have no statistical significance (P>0.05). The comparison of groups'clinical remission rate, total effective rate and overall effect has no statistical significance (P>0.05). This showed that the curative effect of both groups is equal to each other. After the second period of treatment, curative effect on symptoms of mucous stool, pus and blood stool and tenesmus of treatment group have statistical significance compared with the control group (P<0.05). The comparison of clinical remission rate and overall effect showed that the treatment group is better than the control group (P＜0.05).3. The comparison of the main symptoms improvement of treatment group between the first period and second period of treatment on the symptoms of diarrhea, mucous stool and tenesmus showed statistically significant difference (P<0.05), but has no statistical significance on the comparison of abdominal pain, pus and blood stool, abdominal distension and anorexia (P>0.05). The comparison of the main symptoms improvement of the control group of the first and second period of treatment has no statistical significance (P>0.05).4. The result of enteroscopy of both groups showed that the curative effect of anabrosis and canker of treatment group is better than those of control group (P<0.05), but the improvement on enteroparalysis of both groups has no significant difference (P>0.05).Conclusion:1. Both medicinal cake-separated moxibustion with chinese herbal enema and pure chinese herbal enema have the improvement effect on ulcerative colitis. But the method of medicinal cake-separated moxibustion with chinese herbal enema has a much better effect on symptoms of mucous stool, pus and blood stool and tenesmus than pure chinese herbal enema.2. The treatment of medicinal cake-separated moxibustion with chinese herbal enema on ulcerative colitis could help to improve short-term clinical remission rate and the overall curative effect and could provide us with new ideas to the treatment of ulcerative colitis.
