Compound Bi Kang Ling nasal drops, which was made from Scutellaria baicalensis, honeysuckle, Fructus xanthii, Flos Magnoliae, C orydalis bungeana, Ramulus Cinnamomi, was an effective prescription of the First Affiliated Hospital of Shan Dong University of traditional medicine. It has the function of dephlogistication, which was mainly used to treat acute and chronic rhinitis.Objective:Combined the traditional herbs with advanced technology, the preparation, technique technology and quality standard were studied. At the same time, the anti-inflammatory function have been investigated to improve that it is safe and effective in clinic.Method:Based on the former preparation, the nasal drops was selected united with pathogen, clinical need, dose etc. The extracting methods were selected according to effective components, pharmacological action, physical and chemical property etc. The volatile oils of honeysuckle, Flos Magnoliae and Ramulus Cinnamomi were extracted through water distillation method. The optimum extraction condition was investigated with an evaluation index of the yield of volatile oil. Water extracting-alcohol precipitating method was used to extract the water-soluble effective components of Honeysuckle, Flos Magnoliae, Ramulus Cinnamomi and Fructus xanthii which were decocted by water. Take the content of total Chlorgenic acid as study index to investigate the optimum extraction condition. The filtrate of water distillation and decoction was combined and concentrated, then the ethanol was added into the concentrated liquid. The optimum extraction condition was investigated with orthogonal design method by determining the dried extract and the content of total Chlorgenic acid. Scutellaria baicalensis and Corydalis bungeana were extracted by alcohol. The content of baicalin and total alkaloid were used as an evaluating index to investigate the optimum preparing technology. The alcohol extraction and Supernatant fluid was combined to recycle ethanol. At last, Oral Liquid and additive were added in. The Clarify degrees and the content of baicalin and Chlorgenic acid were selected to establish the optimal pH and the best proportion of additive.The quality control standard of compound Bi Kang Ling nasal drops was also established in this paper. The thin layer chromatography(TLC)methods were established to identify Scutellaria baicalensis, Honeysuckle, Fructus xanthii and Flos Magnoliae. A high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was established to determine the content of chlorogenic acid and baicalin in Jnasal drops. By means of the swelling of mice ears induced by xylene, swelling of granulation in cotton ball and the penetrating of blood capillary in abdominal cavity to test and verify the anti-inflammatory effects of Compound Bi Kang Ling nasal drops.Results:Compound Bi Kang Ling nasal drops has scientific, rational and feasible technology, the main active ingredients get rich very much after applying optimized extracting and purifying process,shaping process is simple and easy to operate. Quality standard of Compound Bi Kang Ling nasal drops established and the item of determination of chlorogenic acid and baicalin wad added, and ruled the sum content of baicalin in lml must no less than 15mg, chlorogenic acid must no less than 5mg. And also it has effects of anti-inflammation.
