The Clinical Observation About The Effect Of Combined Therapy Of Traditional Chinese Medicine In Prevention And Cure For Glaucoma Optic Nerve Lesion

Purpose:Through retrospective case control, analysis the cases of glaucoma of intraocular pressure controled in our hospital, investigate the protective effect of traditional Chinese medicine in the optic nerve lesion of the two type, summarize the law of all the pattern of syndrome.Methods:This study is From 1997 to 2010, Eighty-three patients(164 eyes) were studied, their age are from 10 to 87 years old.49 patients(97 eyes) were cured by traditional Chinese medicine,34 patients(67 eyes) were cured by western medicine.The comparison of the change to the visual acuity and visual field between the TCM treatment group and the normal control group.and make a summary the syndrome differentiation of TCM treatment:.then disscuss the change to the visual acuity and visual field of different syndrome of TCM.Result:1. the change of visual field:during the patients cured by traditional Chinese medicine:18 eyes' visual field were improved;4 eyes' visual field were descended; 75 eyes' visual field were steady,during the patients cured by western medicine:3 eyes' visual field were improved; 13 eyes' visual field were descended;51 eyes' visual field were steady.Through X2 test, P<0.05, there is significance in statistics,during the patients cured by traditional Chinese medicine:liver and kindey deficiency:10 eyes were improved; 3 eyes were descended;44 eyes were steady.qi asthenia and stagnation of blood:6 eyes were improved; 1 eyes were descended;23 eyes were steady.QI due to depression of the liver:2 eyes were improved; 8 eyes were steady.Through X2 test, P> 0.05, there is nonsignificance in statistics. 2. the change of visual acuity:during the patients cured by traditional Chinese medicine:10 eyes' visual acuity were improved over 2 lines; 1 eyes' visual acuity were descended over 2 lines; 86 eyes' visual acuity were changed during the above situations.during the patients cured by western medicine:6 eyes' visual acuity were improved over 2 lines;4 eyes' visual acuity were descended over 2 lines; 57 eyes' visual acuity were changed during the above situations.Through X2 test, P>0.05, there is nonsignificance in statistics.during the patients cured by traditional Chinese medicine:liver and kindey deficiency:7 eyes were improved; 1 eyes were descended;49 eyes were steady.qi asthenia and stagnation of blood:3 eyes were improved; 27 eyes were steady.QI due to depression of the liver:10 eyes were steady.Through X2 test, P>0.05, there is nonsignificance in statistics.Conclusion:Differentiating zheng treatment of traditional Chinese medicine is significance in the change of visual field and protection of optic nerve lesion.
