Objective:To described the safe events types and status of hospitalized children in a provincial children's hospital in 2010, to analyzed the cause and suggested how to reduce the security events of hospitalized children.Methods:According to the research purposes, from a provincial Children's Hospital Medical Department, Nursing Department, quality control department, Expansion Department, Supervision Department, record room and the clinical departments (ICU, orthopedics, general surgery, etc.) to gather information. The circumstances of security incidents of hospitalized children were investigated retrospectively.48698cases were investigated.318 cases were occurred. Information obtained through EpiData3.0 software, database entry, level indicators on the qualitative and quantitative post-processing and unified code for statistical analysis with SPSS 13.0Results:(1)The incidence of safe events in the investigated hospital was 0.65%in 2010.Divided safe event into four categories including iatrogenic injury, facilities injury, parents or caregivers missions, and children self-injury. The occurrence number of iatrogenic injury is 212 people, the number of proportion of its value is the biggest 0.43%; Secondly the number of safe incident for children self-injury is 74 people, occupied for 0.08%; The lowest rates of safe incident is facilities environment injury. So reducing the incidence of security incidents requiring medical parties to work together. (2) The rate of safety event in different gender children has a statistically significant difference (p= 0.03) through x2 test, the safety event rate of male hospitalized children is larger than female hospitalized children; (3) The rate of safety event in different age groups children has a statistically significant difference through x2 test (p= 0.00< 0.05). (4) The incidence of children safety event is different, comparing different levels of education among mothers of hospitalized children in the case of security incidents. After the x 2 test, the difference was statistically significant (p= 0.00<0.05). (5) Children's Hospital in a number of medical discharge in 2010 was 10727 people, security incidents occurred 88 cases of hospitalized children, the rate was 0.18%; number of surgical discharges in 2010 was 17517 people, security incidents occurred 111 cases of hospitalized children, the rate was 0.2%; emergency system for the 9472 in 2010 number of people discharged from hospital, the occurrence of security incidents 26 patients hospitalized children, the rate was 0.06%; rehabilitation hospital discharges in 2010 was 1094 people, security incidents occurred 60 cases of hospitalized children, the rate was 0.14%; number of discharged patients infected with Section in 2010 for the 4749 people, security incidents occurred 33 cases of hospitalized children, the rate was 0.07%.Conclusion:①The incidence of safe events in the investigated hospital was 0.65% in 2010. The rates of medical,surgery,emergency systems,rehabilitation, safety of children infected subjects were 0.18%,0.2%,0.06%,0.14% and 0.07%, respectively.②The main type of safe event hospitalized children was iatrogenic injury, followed by parents or care for the missions, the lowest is for the facility environment.③the main factors of the security incidents affect including children's gender, age, mother education and family economic status. etc.
