Clinical Contrast And Analysis Between Warthin's Tumor And Pleomorphic Adenoma Of The Parotid Gland

Objective:To contrast and analysis between Warthin's tumor and pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland from clinical manifestation. color Doppler ultrasonograthy(CDU) and imaging manifestation, and to provide reliable according for preoperative identified clinical diagnosis and the selection of operational methods.Methods:289 cases of Warthin's tumor and pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland in our hospital were collected from 2008 to 2010.The constituent ratio of disease,age of onset,gender,position of onset,course of disease,diameter of tumor,recrudescence,crinosity,smoking and CDU,imaging manifestation were analyzed.These data were treated by chi square test using Excel and SPSS 13.0 software.Results:The constituent ratio of disease,age of onset,gender,course of disease,maximal diameter of tumor,crinosity,smoking between Warthin's tumor and pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland had significant difference.On the other hand, Warthin's tumor and pleomorphic adenoma of the parotid gland had specific manifestation in imaging manifestation of CDU,CT and MRI. Conclusions:According to the position and diameter of the parotid gland tumor and the condition of patients' age,gender,course of disease,crinosity,smoking,binding auxiliary examination of CDU,CT and MRI,it could mainly distinguish Warthin's tumor and pleomorphic adenoma before surgical operation.The tumor could be diagnosed before surgery,which could make sure the corret surgical plan.The diagnosis is Warthin's tumor of the parotid gland before surgery,which could avoid the damagement of facial nerve.decrease the damagement of parotid gland,shorten the time of surgery in the surgery;and ease the depression and malformation of face,prevent Frey's syndrome,maintain the affected side parotid gland's function after the surgery.
